Notifications and language
Manage your private inbox, category choices, device permissions and language.
Notifications has a private inbox and separate preferences for Community, Events, Rewards, Medical leave and Care. Inbox updates start enabled; push preferences start off. This guide describes the development build. Push delivery remains disabled until the service is explicitly enabled.
What appears in my inbox?
Open Notifications while signed in to see your updates. You can mark one or all updates as read, refresh the list and load older messages.
Messages are generic. They do not contain health values, medical-leave details or the contents of a clinical record. Open the relevant area of the app to review that information under your account's access controls. Marking a notice as read does not approve a care request or change a leave decision.
How do I choose categories?
Open Preferences. For each category, choose whether future updates appear in your inbox and whether you allow generic push notices. Push requires the category's inbox setting to stay enabled.
Turning push off stops queued notices for that category. A notice already handed to the phone's push service cannot be recalled. Re-enabling a category does not republish older updates suppressed while it was disabled.
How do I enable this phone?
First allow push for at least one category. Read the device notice, then select Enable push on this device. Only that action asks for your phone's notification permission and registers the device with Expo's push service.
An older development build may not contain the native push module. If the app says a new build is required, the inbox remains available. If you denied phone permission, you can change it in your phone's settings and retry registration.
Registering a device does not begin delivery while the service is disabled. When enabled, lock-screen messages remain generic in your selected account language.
How do I stop push on a device?
Select Revoke push access beside the registered device. This stops future sends through that registration. You can manage other registrations belonging to your account from the same list.
Signing out first revokes the current device's registration. If the app cannot confirm revocation, it keeps you signed in and asks you to retry. An interrupted registration may need to be retried from Notifications before sign-out can finish safely.
How do I change language?
Use Language to select English, Bahasa Melayu or Simplified Chinese. The app saves the choice on this device. When you are signed in, it also updates your account language for notifications.
If the account update fails, the local language still changes and a retry action appears. Retry to update the language used by server notifications. Navigation, Records labels and notification consent have translation catalogues; some screens and authored content are still in English. This is not yet a fully translated app.
